What does it mean when a man washes his hands face, mouth and his feet?

I work with people from other countries, why do they need to wash their hands, face, feet and inside their mouths at certain times of the day? What does it mean when a man washes his hands face, mouth and his feet?
Are they a sweaty type? What does it mean when a man washes his hands face, mouth and his feet?
They are Muslims. Muslims pray 5 times a day- the ritual you are talking about is their ablutions. They are trying to get as clean and presentable as they can in order to face Allah.
It's a Muslim tradition to read their Quraan
Not again. You know which people do this, you're just being provocative.

This is not a question of country, it's a question of religion.

Before you pray to God, you cleanse yourself.
Is it 69 time ? ... seriously ... I know the Muslims do this - I think they are under the impression they are cleansing their naughty thoughts away before they pray..
a very common muslim religious activity-called ablution performed before prayer and at certain other times not necessarially before every prayer. A symbolic washing which may help prepare the person for the private time with his creator as in preparing for meditation by deep breathing something like that.Calms the person, gets rid of dust .refreshes them etc.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
You know why they do, or you should have asked them, since you work with them.

This is Yahoo Answers and not Yahoo Half witted Statements made up as a Question.

After a question like this you should wash your mouth with carbolic soap.
Are they having alot of kinky sex?
B.O
have they got.....foot and mouth....
THEY ARE MUSLIM'S. THEY USUALLY DO IT BEFORE PRAY.
they want to make a clean getaway
it's a sign of respect to whoever they worship, it's kind of like the christian term of being baptised 'washing away their sins)
I am very happy to see how you all keep good knowledge of our religion Islam. Thank you my brothers and sisters. Those of you who are right about the answer i would like to mention their ID:

yazooyazzy, Zsazsa A (We wash ourselves before we read the Quran or before we pray), Riya Layne, tink(yes it is a good idea to stay clean, we care more about hygiene), ENIGMA VS MYTH (You are so true brother), nonpedigreed_p (Um i don't understand the meaning of Godliness but yes we do imagine that we are standing infront of Allah our creator and we have to try to forget all the earthly wants when we are praying to Allah) and also ask for forgiveness if we have done sins in our life and promise not to repeat them again and many things lol, its not that hard once you know how to pray...each prayer takes 10 to 15 min) and we perform our prayer 5 times a day. 1: in early morning before sun rise, 2: After 1PM, 3: between 4-30 to 6-30 depending on the season and the change of the suns position, 4: Before sunset, and final 5: One hour or 1 and a half hour after the 4th prayer. there might be some times changes depending on how big or small the day is. If you add all the time ..lol .. you only spend almost an hour just to pray everyday....but i dont get why even some muslims find it hard to pray.

Well take care my brothers and sisters.
theyre muslim %26amp; are getting themself ready for Allah.
its preparation for prayer for muslims and these are the areas most likely to come into contact with things and be dirty...its more to make ourselves feel externally clean and pure as well as internally(hopefully).
They are performing wudu for salah(prayer). And the others are right cleanliness is next to godliness. Bec you are making an effort to present yourself to God. ie to wash away filth.
I suppose it has to do with their culture/religion but isn't it a good idea anyway?

Why do face washes and exfoliating face washes bring spots out?

when i was younger i used to leave makeup on n my skin was always glowing, never ever got spots. Since i have started to wash make up off and use face washes, i get spots regulary! anyone know why?Why do face washes and exfoliating face washes bring spots out?
thats all the dirt from over the years coming out your skin now.. they come in the form of spots the friction of the rubbing causes the pore to swell and become infected with the dirt.Keep going though eventually youll get rid of the dirtWhy do face washes and exfoliating face washes bring spots out?
Sometimes cleansers and exfoliaters strip your skin of oil to prevent spots. However, your skin's natural reaction to this is by producing more oil!! Hence, you end up with even oiler skin, which is possibly the reason for your spots?
its the dirt under the paws of your skin
It may not be because of washing your face it, it may be you age now that your older you may be getting spots because of increase in hormones. But it may possibly be that your washing your face to much and your rinsing away naturaul oils so your skin is more greecy producing spots.

To get rid of the spots follow these tips and you shoud have glowing skin:

    - Eat healthily

    - Wash your face at least once a day

    - Don't wash your face more than twice a day

    - Wash make up off at night

-Use a natural face wash with no fragrances or perfumes.

    - Apply a small amount of vinegar or perfume to get rid of spots. But I can't gaurantee it will work for everyone.

    Good luck! =]

    xxx
To Much Alkaline In The Product
maybe the ones you are using are to harsh for your skin causing a reaction. also don't exfoliate too often as strips skin of natural oil
i no wot u mean that has happened to me before although sum allergiv reactions can come out as bumpy spots so it cud b that...if not try using the face wash every other day and just using warm water on the other days soap can dry out your face so i'd recommend just water on the days that you dont use the wash
    Nevermind the product. Think ';hormones';

Then check that you are using the right type for your skin.

Dry/combination or Oily? Make sure it matches your skin. If you are getting spots could it be because you need one for Oily Skin?
Aparently if you over exfoliate is scrubs off the natural oils on the face causing spots, I used to use an exfoliating scrub every day - I stick to a mild liquid soap from Clinique now and my skin is great.
i own my own beauty salon and people ask me this question all the time.

some peoples skin doesn't agree to water it depend on the area you live in.(i can tell you now any water on my skin brings me up in so many spots.)

people think that the more they wash their face the cleaner and better their skin will be but be assured your skin will produce more sebum to protect it thus making it greasier. your skin needs a certain amount of sebum and the more you strip it the more it will produce. my advice is to use baby wipes or skin care wipes and a moisturizer. ( even if you have an oily skin you need to replace the moisture to stop an over protection of the skin. check out what moisturizer is best for you. exfoliate once a week to remove dead skin and follow your skin care routine everyday. to dry up spots apply toothpaste its great and cheap. please be patient this will take at least a month to improve it will not happen over night.

    .
Did you know that if you leave your make-up on over night it sinks deep into your skin and it actually take 28 days for it to resurface. Thats why you should remove your make-up ever night.

As for getting spots after using face washes, depends on your skin type. There are different face washes for different types of skin. If you have oily skin, or dry skin you will need a product suitable for it.

In my opinion the best place to go to is the body shop they have some brilliant products which will suit you, and they will be a lot more honest with you and actually sell you a product thats right for you, whereas these large dept stores with the beauty countrs will try and sell you the most expensive prodct which is probably no good for you...

I found that the warming mineral mask from the body shop is a great pick me up for your face if you are suffering with spots, it draws out all the impurities in your skin and it feels warm when you put it on, excellent product if I say so myself.....
if the spots are showing up right after you exfoliate, it's because you are making the blood come to your face and kind of ';waking'; your skin up, the spots usually fade after a little while, if you'ore getting more blemishes or something since starting using face wash, i'm not sure
Hi my skin is exactly the same, I never used to us facial washes and even slept in my make up and only rinsed with water but then when I got older I though we were suppose to cleanse tone exfoliate and moisturise, so I got loads of stuff in and then my skin was breaking out in spots all over the place, and then I use more stuff to get rid of them and now they have never got.

I think its the chemicals and things in the face washes and moistursers that clogg the pores and makes skin worse, If I dont use face washes etc on my face I get no spots what so ever my spots go but I feel unclean.

I have tried every face wash and facial cream and moisturiser out there and nothing suits my skin type except tap water lol/

I have at the moment had an out break of spots form using a frangrance free facial wash, and using a fragrance free face scrub 2 time a week and now my skin is all spotty and dried out. I think our skin is just too sentive.

I now went and spent loads in the body shop on there Aloe Vera range for sensitive skin. the consultant said it works for her spots so Ill give it a go. I have it on at the moment and so far so good, if I have spots in the morning that will be another product I cant use

How often and what should i wash my c-pap face mask in? thank you?

If you are worried you can wash it in a solution of alcohol and water or even plain soap and water. It's a plastic one, right? You can wipe it out with a tissue or towel and almost any kind of medical type cleanser. ( peroxide, alcohol, soap, etc..) I wouldn't wash too often as it may cause it to harden and crack over time. Also, don't leave the mask in the direct sunlight when you are not using it. (will also make it crack eventually)How often and what should i wash my c-pap face mask in? thank you?
once a week and use toothpaste it is non toxic and will clean and disinfect your mask

I have heard people say not to wash you're face with a bar of soap... Why? thx in advance?

In general, people dislike soap even for their bodies. It tends to leave a dried out feeling with your skin which is why so many companies are moving towards body washes with lotion or moisturizing agents. The skin on your face is the most sensitive and therefore the use of soap on it makes it even worse. Like others have said, it dries it out and also clogs pores thus creating a build up causing break-outs. Always use a face wash and moisturizer with some SPF in it (i find neutrogena to be the best).I have heard people say not to wash you're face with a bar of soap... Why? thx in advance?
because bar soap will dry you face out, BUT when i was a teen and had acne dial bar soap is the only thing that helped me.I have heard people say not to wash you're face with a bar of soap... Why? thx in advance?
it dries ur skin out, but if it's designed to treat ur skin then i guess it's okay to use it
You can use a bar of soap if you have oily skin and pimples as long as it is a antibacterial soap like Dial. If you have dry or normal skin the perfume in bar soap can cause irritation and pimples. I have for years , after I've finished washing myself in the shower, rinsed out the facecloth and washed my face with just clear water and I have never had a problem with my skin and I'm 57 years old. As I'm older now, my face is more oily, and I use whatever soap I use on my body on my face with no skin problems irrupting.
when soap reacts with water it takes the dirt and sucks it in to a little bubble...like drying it out. thats why they make facial cleansers that keep the moisture in and take the dirt and gross stuff away :)
It's dirty from using it all those other times.
because a bar of soap is not meant to be used on face pores because it can clog them and cause acne, pimples, breakouts, etc.
I use dial soap on my face everyday, i have hardly any break outs and my black heads are under control.

i swear by it. as long as it's not scented.
Have you ever noticed that once a bar of soap has dried after being wet, it goes rock solid and cracks?

It takes the essential oils needed out of the skin and causes it to be dry/ irritated.

If you have no other option other then using soap, use dove or simple.
its been used by various people and it drys your skin out badly try noxema

Does washing your face with lemon juice make you paler?

i think it would just burn...Does washing your face with lemon juice make you paler?
well I think yes... because it sort of acts like a natural bleach. It's a form of natural acid...

    reasons why:

    1. The natural way to get rid of dark spots on skin is to rub lemon juice on the dark area.

    2. Natural way to help get rid of clothing stains is to apply lemon juice to the stain and let it saturate to the fabric.

    3. Natural way to lighten dark elbows and knees is to apply lemon juice while scrubbing it. leave it on for 30 mins.

    4. and many more reason why...

yes, it will sting, burn and make your skin red if you have open wounds like cuts or something or pimples and blemishes. that's a big OUCH if lemon juice is applied to those areas...

hope that answers your question...Does washing your face with lemon juice make you paler?
here are the benefits of lemon juice:

    brighten fingernails

    banish blackheads

    condition hair

    create blonde highlights

it has a bunch of various things you can use lemon for (beauty wise) like better complexion, smooth skin, and many others
use hydrogen peroxide don't get it in your eyes. it will work for a little bit, then wash off, but if u use it every day it will start bleaching your skin. please watch out- i don't know if this is even safe, but Ive done it.
i think it lighten it a little bit but not much and i also know it will irritate your skin. if you are trying to even out your skin tone you might want to go see a doctor. b/c many of the products available in stores wont make a noticeable impact hope this helps
I would think it would make your face dry, itchy and burn, leaving big red splotches everywhere.

i dont understand why someone would want to be more pale. every skin tone is gorgeous

Does washing your face with olive oil make pimples go away>?

I hers it make skin softer and gives it a glow but does it help with acne and what are other benifits of using it?Does washing your face with olive oil make pimples go away%26gt;?
no--will make acne worse--unless it is olive oil soap--that is OKDoes washing your face with olive oil make pimples go away%26gt;?
ewww. i really dont think so. I think it will cause more breakouts because it will clog up your pores.
Nope. You need to see a dermatologist. Just give up the home remedies and go see a doctor before your skin scars. You will be a lot happier. Oil is bad for acne-prone skin. Eat olive oil.. that's what really helps your health.
well, it helps with scars, i would rather use vitamin e oilment, and works fine. you should try it
from my expirence no but astringent works best
It will make your face very oily- over moisturizing - and it's hard to get off w/o harsh soap- kinda defeats the purpose. Honestly the best stuff is Proactive. Dermalogica products are also great (and not too expensive)
it helps with scars though. but it dosent help with acne. if you are trying to make acne go away, try using propolis, it would heal your pimple in two days and its natural.
Make an appointment with a dermatologist. i did and she put me on tetracycline, which really helped. I stopped taking it though and it came back...
